Papst Motoren GmbH, or Papst, is an older maker of fans for a variety of different applications. The company was formed in 1942 and was then later acquired in 1992 to become part of the ebm-papst Group.
While its equipment is slowly reaching EOS and EOL dates, top products are still going strong thanks to the company’s healthy experience in the market. It was one of the first companies to develop a compact fan with EC motor technology. As the company grew, it focused efforts on compact devices as well as large industrial refrigerators and coolant systems. Its efforts shifted to smaller electronics only a few years before its acquisition, but the company still made strides in laying a foundation that most early data centers built upon for safety and reliability.
